Summary

Join Grammarly's Corporate Infrastructure team as a Software Engineer to develop features, services, and infrastructure to support the company's corporate functions. The role involves building and pushing code in the first week, shipping impactful features in the first few months, and collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams.

Requirements

  • Has 5+ years of relevant experience in back-end development, ideally using Java or other JVM languages, and Python
  • Displays excellent software engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Demonstrates perseverance when faced with tough technical issues
  • Has experience with AWS or other cloud offerings (GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Has experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale
  • Cares about the end-user experience and strives to ensure high quality

Responsibilities

  • Start building and pushing code in your first week
  • Ship impactful features in your first few months
  • Build and support internal services when third-party solutions don’t meet our requirements
  • Target high availability of the developed services
  • Apply high-security standards
  • Learn how to build infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Collaborate with Grammarly Engineering and Operations teams to build custom integration with the services they own
  • Contribute to an engineering culture with a strong emphasis on documentation, testing, and user experience
  • Evaluate the systems and technology in place today while proposing systems and architecture that can scale for the future
  • Have the opportunity to mentor new hires
