Summary

Join Planet's Defense and Intelligence pod as a full-stack software engineer to build and integrate systems for federal customers. You will collaborate with internal teams to develop a next-generation integration platform, directly impacting customer access to Planet's data and streamlining onboarding processes. This full-time, remote position (with potential for 3 days/week in-office) requires 4+ years of experience, expertise in Go or Python, full-stack development skills, and experience with orchestration workflows. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern front-end codebases and proven cross-functional collaboration skills. Requirements

  • 4+ years industry experience
  • Expertise developing in Go or Python
  • Full stack application development experience (Database, Services, Web)
  • Experience building orchestration workflows preferably with Temporal (temporal.io)
  • Experience owning and transforming modern front end codebases
  • Fluency in Golang, Python, Postgresql, & React or related technologies
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills (Product & Design)
  • Experience scaling and maintaining production systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integration tools which serve our enterprise and federal customers
  • Manage architecture and ensure availability of services
  • Fortify our deployment pipeline and production service monitoring capabilities
  • Help to define, create and analyze usage metrics to drive customer growth
  • Participate in team on-call rotation to support production services

  • Versatility - the ability to pick up new technologies quickly
  • Experience building systems with many integrations
  • Experience with geospatial technologies and data
