Summary
Join Vonage and contribute to the innovation of cloud communications for businesses worldwide! As a member of the Vonage Verify API team, you will play a crucial role in expanding the team's capabilities to support a growing customer base. This involves developing new features, enhancing anti-fraud measures, and integrating with Networks APIs for the next-generation 2 Factor Authentication platform. You will work on a blend of new and existing projects, utilizing a variety of technologies and contributing to a high standard of code quality and development practices. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and staying abreast of industry trends.
Requirements
- Excellent software engineering skills in Go, Java or Kotlin for backend services
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Operations, and Product Management to ensure seamless integration of new features and services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- A strong focus on testing
- An understanding of Object Oriented Design and standard design patterns
- Strong experience of multi-threaded, 3-tier architectures, web services, caching, and dealing with event-driven pipelines
- Willingness to learn and use different technologies/programming languages
- First hand knowledge of Continuous Deployment tools and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Create scalable microservices that will help support our impressive growth
- Propose scalable, maintainable and cost effective solutions
- Estimate the effort required to develop and deliver new product features
- Implement and execute effective testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to ensure software quality and reliability
- Design and develop approaches to measure, evaluate and improve service quality
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback to peers, and actively contribute to maintaining a high standard of code quality and development practices
- Contribute to the documentation of the components, design patterns, and the design system to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging frontend technologies, and share knowledge and expertise with the development team to continuously improve our development processes and standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with public cloud. AWS would be advantageous
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Practical experience of deploying code in a modern programming environment using tools such as Docker, Helm and Kubernetes
