Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Smartsheet's proactive engineering team and help reimagine user experiences for managing update and approval requests at enterprise scale. This role involves building reliable, scalable back-end services using Java, AWS, and Terraform, as well as developing front-end components using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. You will collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers throughout the software development lifecycle, focusing on test automation and code coverage. The position requires 3+ years of software development experience, full-stack technology proficiency, and cloud technology experience. Remote work options are available within the US. Requirements

• 3+ years software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications
• 3+ years of programming experience with full stack technologies such Java, Kotlin or TypeScript
• 1+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

• Build reliable, scalable, and performant back-end services for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (using Java, AWS, Terraform)
• Develop modular, maintainable front-end components for a sophisticated and unique user interface (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS)
• Take part in code reviews and architectural discussions as you work with other software engineers, UX designers and product managers
• Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution with a focus on test automation and code coverage
