Software Engineer III - Android

Summary

Join Jumio as a Senior Android Engineer and contribute to the development of a cutting-edge SDK used by over 100 million users. You will play a key role in enhancing our core Android SDK and potentially our customer applications. Responsibilities include delivering new features and fixes, writing clean and well-documented code, collaborating with customers and the R&D team, and managing your own workload. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of Android development experience using Java/Kotlin, a strong understanding of software design patterns, and experience with Gradle/Groovy. The role requires expertise in large-scale projects and a commitment to quality software delivery. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in developing Android applications in Java / Kotlin
• Strong understanding of software design patterns as well as Android specifics
• Gradle/Groovy
• Capable of working on large scale projects
• Obsessive in delivering quality software

• Effective communication & collaboration skills as you will be working a high performing team who currently works in a distributed setup

Responsibilities

• Further develop our core products (mainly our native Android SDK and sometimes on our end user-facing customer applications, cross-platform deliveries, …)
• Take ownership in delivering new functionality and fixes from idea creation, through the design phase until the public release
• Write clean, readable and well documented code and you understand that your changes impact hundreds of well known applications in the app store and influence the experience of an impressive number of daily unique end-users using our SDK
• Participate in resolving issues together with our customers
• Collaborate with the whole R&D team / entire company to build features that matter
• Manage your own work by organizing your time, prioritizing tasks and taking ownership of topics

Preferred Qualifications

• Passionate about open source
• Experience with CI/CD
• Test Automation - writing Unit and Integration tests
• IOS Development
• Track record of developing SDKs/Frameworks is a plus
• Experience with Cross-platform frameworks is a plus (React Native, Flutter, Cordova, Xamarin)
