Summary

Join Instructure as a Software Engineer Intern and contribute to the development of our Canvas Learning Management System. This remote-first position offers the opportunity to work on a full-stack team building a storefront for Canvas LMS. You will collaborate with a team committed to quality and using the right technology. The internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and is open to active students in Hungarian higher education institutions for at least one more year. The position involves building single-page web apps using modern web technologies and requires practical knowledge of at least one modern programming language. Requirements

  • Be an active student for at least 6 months
  • Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Have an active student status at a Hungarian higher education school that is valid for at least 1 more year
  • Possess practical knowledge of at least one modern programming language, JavaScript or Typescript preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability and desire to work in an inclusive and team-oriented environment
  • Be comfortable communicating over text and video conferences and not be afraid to ask questions
  • Successfully pass a background check upon being hired

Responsibilities

  • Build new features into existing products, such as the Canvas Learning Management System
  • Develop and maintain Catalog, a storefront for Canvas LMS, where students can enroll and pay for different courses
  • Work as a full-stack engineer building single-page web apps with modern web technology
  • Test your own product
  • Support your code and its pipeline and production environments end-to-end (DevOps mindset)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have interest in Frontend Development (experience is a plus)
  • Be passionate about learning and Software Engineering as a career
  • Have interest in solving problems that require investigations
  • Be excited about testing code to ensure that the customer can use a best-in-class product
  • Have practical knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Have knowledge of a modern frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue,..)
  • Have experience or projects outside of class
