Software Engineer IV - Backend

Summary

The Software Engineer IV position is an opportunity to join Foundry, a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, as part of their team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for the company. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of professional software development experience, proficiency in multiple programming languages, and familiarity with software development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent)
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in at least two programming language (C++, Java, JavaScript, GoLang, Rust, Solidity, Kotlin)
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
• Passion for software development and a desire to grow as a software engineer

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets customers' needs
• Collaborate with product managers and other team members to understand project requirements and specifications
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions in accordance with best practices and coding standards
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Debug and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance your skills and contribute to technology decisions
• Contribute to the improvement of our cloud architecture and scaling
• Contribute to the improvement of software development processes and methodologies
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular project updates
• Lead and teach others on the team about architecture and cloud best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with and passion for bitcoin, bitcoin pools, wallets, nodes, crypto industry
• Master’s Degree Preferred
• Familiarity with domain-specific knowledge such as financial systems, healthcare regulations, e-commerce platforms
• Proficiency with development tools, frameworks, and libraries such as specific IDEs, version control systems (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and deployment tools
• Knowledge of SQL and database design principles is often preferred
• Highly proficient in AWS cloud concepts, including deployment to cloud and Infrastructure as Code. Proficient in ECS, EKS, Kubernetes and Terraform
• Understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or personal GitHub repositories
• Prior experience working in a startup environment, with an understanding of the fast-paced and dynamic nature of startups
