Summary

Gusto is hiring experienced engineers to join their teams working on customer-facing products. As a Gusto Software Engineer, you'll oversee large-scale projects end-to-end and lead innovation in complex domains. The role involves architecting, building, testing, and owning cross-functional alignment with Product Management, Design, and Business teams.

Requirements

• At least 12+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience leading the innovation of customer-facing products and technical management of large projects end-to-end
• Advanced data modeling skills and hands-on building well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code
• Passion for creating memorable experiences for customers
• Expertise in complex product development problems using Rails & React

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and test Gusto's product suite, which includes Payroll, Benefits, HR, Time, Tax Credits, and more
• Lead other engineers to innovate on complex technical problems in large-scale applications using Ruby/Rails and Javascript/React
• Own cross-functional alignment with Product Management, Design, and Business teams to understand customer pain points and launch daily

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in HR, Payroll, Payments, Fintech, or Tax products, AI/Machine Learning

• Compensation: $193,000/yr to $231,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $228,000/yr to $272,000/yr for San Francisco & New York
