Software Engineering Intern

Summary

Join Western Digital's team as a Firmware Developer and contribute to cutting-edge technologies powering high-volume hard disk drives. You will design, implement, validate, and maintain firmware components using best-practice methodologies. Collaboration and code reviews are integral to ensuring quality. This role requires a BS/MS in a related field, fluency in C/C++/Python, and industry exposure. Preferred qualifications include recent graduation and a high GPA. Requirements

• BS/MS or higher in CS, CE, EE or related field
• Fluency with programming languages such as C/C++/Python
• Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduation between December 2025 - May 2026
• 3.0 or higher in major courses
• Exposure to TCL, MATLAB, Debugging, SAS/SATA Bus Trace Analysis, JTAG ICE (using GHS probes and Arium probes), TCG, FIPS, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, MS Office
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
