Join Natera's Service AI Transformation Team as a hands-on Engineering Manager leading a four-person squad. You will guide design decisions, deliver production features, and foster a high-performing engineering culture. The team builds AI-driven integrations and transformation workflows leveraging ingested document data, creating reusable patterns for cross-functional workflows. Responsibilities include architecting event-driven components on AWS, designing AI transformation pipelines, overseeing GraphQL APIs, integrating with Kafka streams, and championing observability. You will also coach and mentor engineers, collaborate with other teams, and own sprint planning and delivery. The role requires establishing robust CI/CD pipelines and driving AI-focused testing. Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading teams
- Deep knowledge of AWS serverless patterns, event streaming, and microservice design
- Production experience with GraphQL, React/Next.js, and Kafka
- Hands-on work with LangChain/Langraph, prompt engineering, and RAG techniques
- Proven track record of cultivating high-performing teams
Responsibilities
- Architect event-driven components on AWS using serverless primitives (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, Fargate) and Infrastructure as Code (CDK/Terraform)
- Design and apply cloud-based foundation-model APIs + LangChain/Langraph: Build AI transformation pipelines that orchestrate prompts, generate embeddings, and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns
- Oversee GraphQL APIs and develop internal dashboards with React/Next.js
- Integrate with high-throughput Kafka streams
- Champion observability with CloudWatch and Datadog, driving actionable alerting and metrics
- Coach and mentor engineers, fostering a growth mindset and inclusive culture
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and the Architecture team to translate business goals into executable roadmaps
- Own sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery predictability
- Establish robust CI/CD pipelines, security scanning, and automated release gates
- Drive AI-focused testing including prompt regression, hallucination detection, and evaluation harnesses, alongside unit and integration tests
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare, genomics, or other regulated-domain experience
