Software Engineering Manager

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience leading software delivery teams
• Recent hands-on development experience with Python applications (a coding assessment restricted to python as the language will be administered following the hiring manager interview)
• Must reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide and inspire a team
• Strong experience with Agile development methodologies
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Deep understanding of AWS architectures and solution design
• Solid knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts
• Experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
• Strong understanding of web standards and browser concepts (e.g., how browsers parse and render web pages)
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices

Responsibilities

• Lead an application development team of developers and QA members using Scrum ceremonies and methodologies
• Lead ongoing development and maintenance activities, including leading code reviews. You will guide the team on best practices
• Manage your team and ensure completion of coding and QA assignments on time. Ensure quality of deliverables and system-level documentation
• Collaborate with Architecture and Technical Product teams for solution design
• Be the Technical Lead and participate in all Scrum processes, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups
• Improve individual team members' performance, processes, and quality across all teams
• Support team members training and career goals
• Help to hire and retain top engineering talent
• Ensure your knowledge of technology and tools is current

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science , engineering, information systems, or related field/work experience
• Experience with React ecosystem
• Understanding of Relational databases
• Experience deploying and integrating with AWS Cloud-based solutions
