Summary
Join PatientPoint's dynamic team and contribute to improving health outcomes nationwide. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a software engineering team, drive Python and JavaScript development on AWS services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will demonstrate technical leadership, guide team members, and ensure timely project completion. This role requires extensive software engineering and team leadership experience, proficiency in Python and JavaScript, and a deep understanding of AWS architectures. Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience leading software delivery teams
- Recent hands-on development experience with Python applications (a coding assessment restricted to python as the language will be administered following the hiring manager interview)
- Must reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide and inspire a team
- Strong experience with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of AWS architectures and solution design
- Solid knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts
- Experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
- Strong understanding of web standards and browser concepts (e.g., how browsers parse and render web pages)
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
Responsibilities
- Lead an application development team of developers and QA members using Scrum ceremonies and methodologies
- Lead ongoing development and maintenance activities, including leading code reviews. You will guide the team on best practices
- Manage your team and ensure completion of coding and QA assignments on time. Ensure quality of deliverables and system-level documentation
- Collaborate with Architecture and Technical Product teams for solution design
- Be the Technical Lead and participate in all Scrum processes, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups
- Improve individual team members' performance, processes, and quality across all teams
- Support team members training and career goals
- Help to hire and retain top engineering talent
- Ensure your knowledge of technology and tools is current
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorβs in computer science , engineering, information systems, or related field/work experience
- Experience with React ecosystem
- Understanding of Relational databases
- Experience deploying and integrating with AWS Cloud-based solutions
