Summary

Plus Power is a leading energy storage developer, owner, and operator seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead their team in developing the real-time energy trading platform. The candidate will be responsible for software vision, strategy, hiring and growing technical teams, and participating in technology leadership meetings. They should have 10+ years of software development experience, 3+ years managing software development teams, and a solid track record in creating and delivering successful enterprise software products. Preferred qualifications include ML/AI experience, AWS experience, front-end development skills, US power market knowledge, independent thinking, and collaboration abilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years in a combination of software development roles building both internal and externally facing software applications
• 3+ years managing software development teams with a preference for getting hands on
• Solid track record in creating and delivering successful enterprise software products with high impact on the business

Responsibilities

• Create and drive software vision, strategies and roadmap to develop and operate Plus Power’s wholesale market bidding, siting, data ingestion and other software products
• Manage both long term software engineering strategy and near-term tactical milestones to ensure software hits commercial milestones
• Build and continually convey software development strategy across stakeholders so different software applications across Plus Power are built in a consistent manner
• Hire, build, empower, and grow high performing technical teams
• Participate in technology leadership-level strategy, design and architectural meetings with peers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with developing and deploying ML and AI solutions as a part of a larger software product
• Experienced in handling reliability, scalability and availability challenges of software products
• Experienced in cybersecurity of distributed software systems hosted on public clouds. Experience working AWS products, especially serverless technologies, a plus
• Experience with front-end development (node.js, react, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with US power markets is a strong plus

• The expected salary range for this position begins at $160,000. Eligible to participate in the annual bonus program
