Software Engineering Manager in India

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineering Manager on Twilio's Segment Compute team. The role involves managing engineers, scaling systems, setting technical vision, and delivering high business impact. The position is remote in India, and occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

• BS in a relevant field or related work experience
• 8+ years of hands-on experience building production grade systems and working with data at scale
• 2+ years of engineering management experience
• The ability to communicate well. You can explain technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders, other engineers, and support teams
• Strong familiarity with agile processes, engineering best practices, and believe in automation over toil

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend engineers to scale and operate foundational compute systems
• Set the technical vision for your team and be accountable for team plans and deliverables
• Grow and develop a high-performing team of hardworking and motivated engineers
• Ensure your team delivers high output with strong ownership and impact

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache Flink, Trino, Spark, or other distributed compute frameworks
• Experience managing and operating AWS infrastructure
• Experience working in a geographically distributed team
