Summary

Join GFiber, an Alphabet company, as our Software Engineering Manager and oversee the development of the team's software development process. Collaborate with various teams to design and develop new features, provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, and resolve technical issues. You will lead the technical software design and implementation through hands-on development and develop customer-facing AI platforms. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, 10 years of web development experience, 2 years of full-stack development experience, 2 years of technical leadership experience, and 1 year of AI platform implementation experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience working with Web technologies (e.g. Javascript, Typescript, CSS)
  • 2 years of full stack development experience (ideally Java or Kotlin)
  • 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 1 year of experience implementing or integrating AI platforms

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team's software development process
  • Design and develop compelling features by collaborating with product/business, UX, QA, backend, and other client engineers
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team's engineers, including helping them to learn new technologies and solve complex problems
  • Work with the team to identify and resolve technical issues, includes troubleshooting problems, debugging code, and performing code reviews
  • Lead the technical software design and implementation through hands-on development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with Next.js and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience of mobile development or multi-layer architectural designs to support mobile teams
  • Ability to collaborate with UX and product owners
  • Experience working with ambiguous product requirements and translating them into strict technical scope

Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $157,000 - $230,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits
