Summary

Join M-KOPA's Retention product group as a Backend-focused Engineering Team Lead. Lead and mentor a team focused on high-quality output using infrastructure as code, observability, monitoring, and automated testing. You'll work with C#/.NET, microservices on Azure Kubernetes, and contribute to a transitioning event-driven architecture. This fully remote role offers flexibility and the chance to improve a legacy codebase while building new projects. M-KOPA is a fast-growing company recognized for its impact in financial inclusion across Africa. The role reports to the group Engineering Manager and operates within a specified time zone.

Requirements

  • Be comfortable working as part of a team which owns the entire software stack, including the supporting infrastructure, throughout the entire software lifecycle from inception, through production and right the way to decommissioning under a DevOps culture
  • Value the constraints that continuous delivery places upon engineering processes and embrace testing and observability as first order concerns in the development of software
  • Have a good grasp of and experience with C#.NET, Event Driven Systems, microservices, testing and Deployment

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team as a servant leader, coach, and contributor
  • Work within a team emphasizing high-quality output using infrastructure as code, observability, monitoring, and automated testing in all environments, including production
  • Drive the architecture of a new fleet of microservices
  • Work on improving a legacy codebase while working on new projects
