Solutions Engineer

Summary

Xometry is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to join their team. The role involves serving as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, proposing solutions to real business problems using technical expertise, working with the sales team to sell manufacturing processes across North America, and conducting discovery meetings to uncover business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• 3-7+ years experience in engineering or technical field
• Engineering degree (mechanical preferred) or related technical degree
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (sheet metal, sheet cutting, welding, metal extrusion)
• Comfortable with technical discussions and executive-level presentations
• Experience preparing technical solutions for business proposals
• CAD experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
• U.S. citizen, legal resident, or valid work visa required

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers
• Propose solutions to real business problems using technical expertise
• Work with Sales team to sell manufacturing processes across North America
• Conduct discovery meetings to uncover business and technical requirements
• Consult with prospects and customers to identify applications of Xometry technology
• Demonstrate Xometry capabilities, including our software quoting platform
• Support internal teams by providing feedback and content for marketing collateral
• Serve as an industry thought leader at events and webinars

Preferred Qualifications

• Self-motivation and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Expertise in areas such as New Product Development, Materials Science, Metrology, Metallurgy
• Consultative approach, asking questions to understand the 'why
