Summary

Join Xometry, a leading custom manufacturing company, as a Sales Engineer/Solutions Engineer. You will serve as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, leveraging your technical expertise to propose solutions to their business problems. Working closely with the sales team, you will address technical objections and ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical skills, experience in manufacturing processes, and excellent communication abilities. You will support sales efforts, conduct discovery meetings, and demonstrate Xometry's capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses a mechanical engineering degree or related field, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Be mechanically intuitive and knowledgeable about a range of manufacturing processes, ideally across multiple industries
  • Be comfortable in deep technical discussions with engineers and manufacturing professionals as well as presenting to varied audiences, including executives
  • Employ a consultative approach, asking questions to understand the why
  • Be experienced at preparing technical solutions for business proposals
  • Possess an Engineering degree (mechanical preferred), or related technical degree
  • Have 3 to 5+ years experience in an engineering or technical field
  • Demonstrate project management and presentation skills
  • Have CAD experience
  • Demonstrate expertise in some of the following areas: Manufacturing, new product development, materials, CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Injection Molding
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including mastery in English

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales and conduct discovery meetings to uncover business and technical requirements that map to Xometry solutions
  • Answer customers’ technical questions relating to DFx (Manufacturing, Assembly, Cost Reduction, etc.) and relating to Xometry’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Consult with prospects and customers to identify appropriate applications of Xometry technology to define a business case and solution
  • Demonstrate Xometry capabilities, including Xometry software quoting platform
  • Support internal product, sales and engineering teams by driving feedback and content for marketing collateral through case studies
  • Support marketing efforts by serving as an industry thought leader at events and webinars
