Solutions Engineering Manager

Summary

Join Couchbase as a Manager of Solutions Engineering to lead the Central US Solutions Engineering team. You will oversee a team of Solutions Engineers, supporting customers in their digital transformation journeys and driving adoption of Couchbase Capella. This role requires collaboration with account teams to shape strategy, manage pre-sales engagements, and ensure exceptional customer value. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with a technical background in databases and cloud-native solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Solutions Engineers across the Central US, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to excel
• Collaborate with regional sales leadership to define go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment on customer success objectives
• Guide the SE team in managing technical discovery, solution demonstrations, and PoC execution
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex customer engagements, providing hands-on support as needed
• Foster a culture of learning and innovation within the SE team, ensuring they stay ahead of industry trends and Couchbase product advancements
• Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and feedback with the broader Couchbase SE organization

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing technical role
• 2+ years of experience managing technical teams
• Deep knowledge of modern database architectures, including NoSQL and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise application development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and business stakeholders
