Sox Compliance Associate

Summary

Join Lightspeed's Internal Audit & SOX Compliance team as a SOX Compliance Associate and work remotely. You will review and improve key business workflows, support integrations of newly acquired companies, and ensure financial reporting meets standards. Responsibilities include documenting financial processes, ensuring internal controls meet regulatory requirements, improving compliance processes, managing the internal audit system, testing automated systems, analyzing data, and assisting with special projects. The ideal candidate possesses a CPA or CIA certification (or is working towards one), auditing/accounting experience, understanding of SOX compliance and IFRS, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

• CPA or CIA certification (or currently working toward one)
• Previous experience in auditing, accounting, or a related field
• Understanding of SOX compliance principles
• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Strong attention to detail in complex tasks and reviews
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the SOX Compliance Team Lead to review and document key financial and operational processes, identifying potential risks and ensuring everything is well-documented
• Make sure the company's internal checks and controls are properly designed and working as they should to meet regulatory requirements
• Look for ways to improve and streamline compliance processes
• Manage and optimize the internal audit system to keep everything organized and running smoothly
• Test automated systems to ensure they work correctly and help prevent potential risks
• Analyze data to spot patterns, identify any issues, and find ways to strengthen compliance efforts
• Assist with special projects, including helping integrate new companies into our financial and compliance processes
