Summary

The Sr DevOps Engineer will participate in software development collaboratively, create and maintain documentation, develop automation tools, troubleshoot issues, work with teams to modernize applications, support on-premise and cloud environments, implement logging monitoring and alerting, and work with QE Automation and InfoSec. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, 5+ years of DevOps and Systems Administration experience, AWS/Cloud experience, Infrastructure as Code skills, scripting knowledge, understanding of software architectural patterns, and excellent analysis and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent working experience
  • 5+ years of DevOps and Systems Administration experience in an agile environment
  • AWS / Cloud experience including EC2, ECR, Load balancing, S3, VPC, etc
  • Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Terraform
  • HELM, YAML, Bash, Python and/or PowerShell scripting
  • Understanding of on-premise (VMWare) with an aim to migrate to cloud computing
  • Experience creating application CI/CD pipelines to support Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript
  • Implementing and supporting DevOps pipelines with a CI/CD tools (GitLab or TeamCity)
  • Parameterizing and automating environment configuration settings
  • Experience working with a security team to β€˜shift left’ and follow DevSecOps practices
  • Understanding of software architectural patterns and applications that run inside a web application infrastructure
  • Understanding of administration of production infrastructure and systems including storage, virtualization technologies, and load balancing with Windows and Linux

Responsibilities

  • Participate as part of a software development team in a collaborative manner
  • Create, modify, and maintain documentation on infrastructure, software, systems, and disaster recovery processes
  • Develop and implement scripts and automation tools to build security, reliability, and scalability into the infrastructure CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot software build and deployment issues
  • Work with Dev teams to apply DevOps best practices to modernize applications to become cloud-native
  • Support all levels of on-premise (VMWare) and cloud (AWS) environments
  • Create and maintain Helm templates and cluster orchestration through Kubernetes
  • Implement Logging Monitoring and Alerting (LMA) and respond to cluster/instance health and security alerts/tools
  • Work with QE Automation, Development, and the InfoSec to integrate testing tools into pipelines

Containerizing applications using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
