Sr. Manager Software Engineering

Summary

Join Bloomerang as a Senior Software Engineering Manager and lead 1-2 teams of engineers in developing cloud native applications, while being part of a mission-driven culture built on Empathy, Unity, and Transparency. Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with 4+ years of cloud native web development
• 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
• Strong management and leadership abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Agile methodologies and common development practices

Responsibilities

• Define the engineering roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that directly connect to and demonstrably advance departmental and company goals
• Track key execution, operational, and quality metrics to measure progress towards roadmap goals and identify areas for improvement within the engineering team
• Oversee the performance of the engineering department, setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and implementing strategies to continuously improve individual and team effectiveness, with a focus on aligning engineering efforts with business outcomes
• Work with other leaders across the organization to identify and address technical dependencies and opportunities, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented environment. Clearly communicate the technical impact of engineering decisions on business goals during these collaborations
