Summary
Join Syndigo's GL accounting team as a Staff Accountant and play a critical role in preparing general journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring timely financial data delivery. You will evaluate and improve processes, implement key internal controls, and collaborate with auditors. This position requires experience with general ledger functions, NetSuite (or similar systems), and strong Excel skills. A BS in Accounting or Finance and 1+ years of experience are preferred. Requirements
- Experience with NetSuite (or similar systems)
- Experience with general ledger functions and month and year-end close process
- Intermediate MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant area
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Driven, high energy individual with ability and desire to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
Responsibilities
- Prepare general journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring reconciliations are prepared and reconciling items are resolved timely (specifically in the areas of payroll, cash, & accruals)
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial data within GAAP framework
- Execute key internal controls and work with auditors during reviews and annual audit
- Demonstrate ability to define, implement and manage the creation of new processes
- Protect organization’s value and integrity by maintaining confidentiality of information
- Key resource and contributor to interim reviews and annual audit process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assist in preparation of balance sheet, P& L and cash flow statements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assists with system upgrades for financial systems as needed and actively participates on special projects as assigned
- Understanding and prior exposure to relevant accounting pronouncements (ASC- 606 & 842, etc.) the application/monitoring of compliance
- Other duties as assigned
