Summary

Join Twilio as a Staff Accountant and play a critical role in daily general accounting operations, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Support revenue accounting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards (ASC 606). Responsibilities include participating in the monthly financial close, assisting with revenue recognition, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and improving accounting processes. A bachelor's degree in finance/accounting, GAAP knowledge, strong attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and excellent communication are required. A master's degree, CPA certification, public accounting experience, and ERP system experience are preferred. This remote role is based in India and may require occasional travel. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent in a Finance/Accounting related function
  • Proficient working knowledge of GAAP and operational month-end close processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with revenue recognition procedures, including reviewing contracts and deferral schedules under ASC 606
  • Support preparation of monthly financial reports for various partners
  • Assist in internal and external audits requests
  • Help improve and document accounting processes and controls

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA certification
  • 3+ years in public accounting or experience working at a fast growing company
  • Experience with Oracle or other large ERP systems
  • Experience with Zuora and/or Zuora Revenue
