Summary

Join Apaleo's Platform team as a Staff Engineer and contribute to the reliability and scalability of our API-first property management platform. You will design, build, and maintain our microservices-based platform, utilizing technologies like .NET, AWS, Docker, and Kafka. This role requires extensive experience in .NET backend development and a deep understanding of microservices and distributed systems. You will proactively monitor services, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineering teams. Requirements

  • +8 years of experience with a proven track record of Technical Leadership, tackling complex problems, coordinating the implementation of features with stakeholders
  • Be an expert in .NET backend development and related technologies such as AWS, Docker, ECS/k8s, Kafka and PostgreSQL
  • Have in-depth knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture
  • Have solid knowledge of cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Be able to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud infrastructure
  • Have eagerness to dive into the logic of hotel operations, to balance and predict the load accordingly
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-team successfully

Responsibilities

  • Design, build out and maintain the application reliability of the Apaleo platform
  • Ensure the platform remains scalable and the codebase remains maintainable
  • Proactively monitor the services in production and spot potential issues
  • Enable engineering teams with self-service infrastructure as code (AWS, terraform)
  • Define best practices around making our systems and services measurable and collaborate with our product teams to get those best practices applied
  • Contribute to the optimization of cloud Infrastructure costs for sustainability
  • As a Staff Engineer, be the main point of contact for other stakeholders and the technical interface for the team
  • Participate in regular on-call rotations to manage and resolve production issues
