Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of relevant work experience
- U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Drive impactful decisions across multiple teams, fostering alignment and collaboration beyond your immediate team
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in the full technology stack, setting high technical standards and guiding best practices
- Lead the technical excellence of complex projects or products, proactively developing strategies to mitigate risks and minimize outages
- Coordinate team efforts by providing constructive feedback, facilitating discussions, and maintaining a positive, productive team dynamic
- Continuously refine team processes, actively seeking feedback, and guiding the team through necessary changes to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Proactively communicate with client stakeholders across teams and organizational levels, translating technical details into clear, actionable insights and aligning project goals with business objectives
- Maintain high-level architectural vision and system design to ensure alignment with both business and technical goals
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams and models that reflect the system architecture including components, modules, and interactions between subsystems
- Define and maintain technical standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Collaborate with Solution and Enterprise Architects to ensure the system architecture is aligned with the broader organizational technical strategy
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that best meet the system's requirements (e.g., performance, security, and reliability)
- Work closely with Agile teams to ensure alignment between the technical solution and the architectural vision considering both immediate needs and long-term goals
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on system-level technical choices such as microservices architecture, integration strategies, and API design
- Mentor and coach teams and engineers on architectural principles and decision-making
- Ensure that the system has sufficient technical infrastructure and capabilities to support upcoming features
- Plan for and execute on technical enablers that help teams build future functionality more efficiently
- Identify and mitigate risks and system-level issues such as scalability, reliability, performance, and security
- Identify and prioritize technical debt that may hinder future progress and advocate for necessary refactoring or architectural improvements
- Ensure that the architecture supports continuous delivery and DevOps practices, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. Help teams implement systems that allow for rapid and frequent releases
Preferred Qualifications
- Government contracting, working with external stakeholders/clients
- Delivering solutions built on AWS
- AWS Well-Architected Framework
- HL7 FHIR
- One or more of the following languages: Java, Go, Javascript/Typescript, Python
- Modern software architecture patterns
- Diagram tools like Lucidchart, Miro
- Presentation software (Google Slides, PowerPoint, etc)
- CI/CD tools - we use Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Docker
- Agile development methodologies and tools - we use GitHub, Jira, Confluence
- Ability to operate autonomously and be driven to build a personal roadmap
