Staff Frontend Engineer

Join Whatnot, the leading livestream shopping platform, as a Staff Software Engineer in Growth! You will play a crucial role in expanding our user base by building and leading the development of our core incentivized buyer growth strategy. This involves creating gamified incentives and offer experiences to accelerate growth. As a lead engineer, you will guide other engineers in building this system from the ground up. This role demands significant ownership, high velocity, and a focus on delivering high-impact features quickly. Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience building E-commerce products
• Frontend or Fullstack engineering experience
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience leading engineers to deliver significant business impact
• Proven track record of delivering features. You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast
• Excellent cross functional team communications
• Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution
• Self motivated, relentlessly focused on impact and able to operate under great deal of independence
• Excellent problem solver and don’t need to be told exactly what to do
• Good communication skills in both written and verbal English

Responsibilities

• Build out the core Incentivized buyer growth strategy, including gamified incentives and offer experiences to continue to accelerate Whatnot’s rapid growth
• Lead other frontend and fullstack engineers to build the core incentive system from the ground up
• Expand our new user funnel across buyers and sellers to accelerate the rapid growth of our marketplace
• Develop opportunities to grow traffic across multiple channels
• Create delightful new user experiences to activate and retain buyers and sellers for the long term
• Prioritize the highest impact features and ship them quickly
• Research and find new opportunities to drive the product direction
