Remote Staff Platform Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Staff Platform Engineer and architect, build, and operate a development platform that other teams will use to build products and services. The ideal candidate is a skilled programmer with experience in cloud-based solutions, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Requirements

• 12-15+ years of development experience, with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions
• 4+ years of hands-on production work with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, and alerting
• 3+ years in a security-conscious environment
• Expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes
• Experience with Go and Python, especially using Kubernetes APIs
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive out the design and capabilities of the SmarterDx development platform
• Build, deploy, maintain, and monitor common AWS infrastructure with Terraform
• Build capabilities using Kubernetes custom controllers in Go and deploy common libraries in Python and Typescript to utilize common data, observability, and monitoring systems
• Ensure the security of our clients’ data by building secure patterns into the fabric of the system in close collaboration with Security Engineering
• Support the SmarterDx platform in production, applying an SRE mindset and toolkit
• Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team
