Summary

Join Manifold, a health research infrastructure company, as a Product Designer to create engaging user experiences for cutting-edge AI and computational science products. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and architects to define problems, map user flows, design prototypes in Figma, and develop new products and features. Serve as a key contributor in product discovery, presenting ideas and designs persuasively. Contribute to and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency and quality. Work with a high degree of autonomy in a collaborative environment, providing and receiving feedback during weekly meetings. The role offers the opportunity to accelerate precision health research and improve patient outcomes. The position is remote or based in Boston, MA.

Requirements

  • Expertise in one or more design tools ( e.g. , Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and have some experience in a front-end development language or framework such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, etc
  • An understanding of evolving UI/UX best practices, and with modern application trends
  • A "user obsessed mentality"—you do everything with the end user in mind, while balancing the context of company priorities and constraints
  • Comfort in facilitating discovery interviews, asking insightful questions, and synthesizing the information into project goals
  • Working as the sole designer on a new product or feature
  • Accurate estimates for how long a given iteration or design stage will likely take, and are comfortable working with project managers to build timelines accordingly
  • Best practices for production considerations and methods: you are thoughtful about how your designs will ultimately get built as software

  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of our design system, working alongside others to ensure consistency and quality as the product evolves
  • Sometimes “get your hands dirty” in the code to help with polish
  • Have a high degree of autonomy as you work with a nimble, growing team—but we know that good design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Our design team works hard to maintain a safe and collaborative atmosphere where we help each other do our best work every day
  • During weekly feedback meetings, you will meet with the design team to seek and offer input
