Summary

Join HubSpot's Breeze Assistant team as a Staff Software Engineer and contribute to a high-impact initiative. You will leverage your extensive full-stack engineering experience, particularly backend expertise, to develop and improve a conversational AI chief of staff for Go-to-Market teams. This role requires a strong track record of delivering high-value projects, experience with complex integrations and data-rich applications, and familiarity with Generative AI technologies. As a senior individual contributor, you will provide strategic direction, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical decisions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders to build reliable, scalable systems. The ideal candidate is a leader who continually strives to raise the bar for the engineering organization as a whole and help drive the product vision forward.

Requirements

  • Have a long track record of experience delivering high-value, high-impact, cross-team projects
  • Have extensive full-stack engineering experience, particularly with deep backend expertise
  • Have experience developing new products from scratch, ideally involving complex integrations, data-rich applications, and user-facing platforms
  • Have hands-on experience or familiarity with Generative AI technologies (LLMs, Agents, RAG, etc.)
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and pragmatic engineering skills, balancing short-term needs with long-term technical vision
  • Have a strong grasp of secure, compliant application development practices, particularly around data privacy, governance, and API integrations
  • Be committed to maintaining a hands-on approach to all technical aspects while providing leadership through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders
  • Exhibit enthusiasm for building reliable, scalable systems
  • Guide teams beyond the status quo; lead us beyond what we have, and towards what we can build, while fostering a shared vision of how to get there

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve a conversational AI chief of staff for Go-to-Market teams
  • Leverage your extensive full-stack engineering experience, particularly backend expertise
  • Provide strategic direction for major projects and drive technical decisions to solve challenging problems around persistent context, conversational interfaces, real-time collaboration, data governance, and application performance
  • Mentor and teach engineers in their areas of expertise
  • Build reliable, scalable systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience developing desktop applications with frameworks like Electron, SwiftUI, or AppKit
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or other CRM platforms and integrations
  • Demonstrable interest or previous work in developing collaborative and conversational user experiences
