Staff Software Engineer

Summary

Join our Engineering team at Lattice and contribute to building cultures where employees and their companies thrive. As a key member of the HRIS Onboarding team, you will own the Onboarding and Documents domains in our HRIS, developing software to help companies build cultures in which their employees thrive. You will partner with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack, leading complex projects with high ambiguity and influencing business outcomes.

Requirements

• Have 7+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining production-level applications
• Worked with a modern programming language like JavaScript, Ruby, Python, etc
• Good database and data modeling experience
• Know how to efficiently model moderately complicated data, write and optimize performant queries in a relational database like PostgreSQL, and are comfortable mentoring junior engineers on best practices around this
• Know the ins-and-outs of maintaining and scaling an application actively serving customers in production
• Clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work
• Work well with designers and product managers to develop optimal solutions
• Love mentoring and supporting other software engineers who are newer to the industry
• Experience taking the lead in planning and executing the development roadmap for software projects
• Make the engineering team more effective through the pragmatic application of useful code tools and patterns
