Summary

Join Unitary, a rapidly growing startup, as a Senior or Staff Software Engineer and play a key role in shaping the future of AI-powered solutions for online safety. You will architect and implement new tools and services for AI agents, reimagine existing services for scalability, and deliver software for onboarding new clients. This role requires collaboration with machine learning and platform engineering teams to bridge capabilities and establish design patterns. Based in the UK or within a 3-hour radius, with occasional travel to London.

Requirements

  • Have expert Python development experience
  • Demonstrate a track record of delivering solutions in the areas mentioned above
  • Possess strong skills in creating and managing containerised microservices running on Kubernetes
  • Be an advocate of software best practices, standards, and culture
  • Be actively developing hands-on and want to do so for at least the next 12 months
  • Be knowledgeable about event-driven architectures
  • Have a DevOps mindset and the skills to apply it using cloud platforms
  • Have basic knowledge of Go (we are building some back-end services in Go)
  • Have understanding of machine learning principles

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement a new generation of tools and services for building AI Agents
  • Re-imagine and refactor our existing services and tooling
  • Deliver software as part of onboarding new clients and use cases
  • Establish design patterns and approaches that others can follow
  • Bridge our Machine Learning and Platform Engineering Capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have worked in a start-up before
  • Venture into Data Engineering, MLOps and/or Platform Engineering
  • Write, deliver, and maintain Go code
  • Have experience using AI-assisted code development tools (e.g. Cursor)
  • Be confident using AWS
