Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/procurement, vendor management, operations
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Proven ability and experience in executing procurement programs, successful research and negotiations, vendor relationship management including contracting, implementation, and migration processes
- Demonstrated ability to model various business scenarios and analyze resulting costs, impacts, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and coordinating the efforts of a diverse range of stakeholders inclusive, but not limited to, R&D, S&OP, operations, manufacturing, engineering, accounting/finance, legal/compliance, and project management personnel
- Experience using data to calculate project level ROIs and drive strategic decision making
- Strong self-motivation, self-direction, excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally to push improvement initiatives to completion
- Passion for breaking down complex problems into smaller manageable steps in order to help team members effectively work through the ambiguity
- Very high attention to detail and organizational skills
- Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly
Responsibilities
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure vendors meet business needs at the lowest total delivered cost
- Maintain and manage strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term performance and compliance
- Drive vendor compliance through scorecarding, setting clear expectations, and, if necessary, offboarding underperforming vendors according to defined vetting standards
- Source new products and onboard vendors while driving cost-saving initiatives
- Conduct price negotiations, RFPs, and implement vendor contracts with clear terms and conditions
- Lead procurement initiatives and programs from start to finish, managing cross-functional projects with upstream and downstream departments
- Build consensus and drive alignment among stakeholders in support of sourcing, implementation, and compliance activities
- Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities throughout project lifecycles to positively impact business operations
- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and timely delivery
- Collaborate with upstream demand planning partners on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasts to inform price negotiations and assess supply chain risks
- Work closely with R&D and manufacturing during the product testing phase to ensure procurement needs align with development and production timelines
- Be the primary cross-functional partner responsible for procurement, operations, and materials management for new or changing materials and suppliers
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve materials, workflows, processes, and technology, optimizing quality, scale, and efficiency for the product lines and manufacturing operations
- Employ research, partnerships, and critical thinking to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly
- Collaborate with manufacturing to bring outsourced milling processes in-house, ensuring better control and cost efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel is a plus
- Loving to negotiate and taking personal responsibility to save every dollar possible
- Experience in data sets including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Looker, Salesforce, and SQL
