Summary

Join Rackspace Technology as a Supplier Manager II, where you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiations, and serving as a business partner with internal departments. You will be the primary point of contact between vendors, Rackspace's strategic sourcing team, and suppliers, ensuring that sourcing needs are met. This role offers a hybrid work model with options for remote work in specific locations within Mexico. You will be responsible for optimizing internal customer relationships, enhancing procurement and supply chain processes, identifying strategic sourcing opportunities, and managing supplier performance. You will also lead and coordinate production, supply, and service agreements, develop and process various procurement documents, and conduct market analysis and research.

Requirements

  • General to advanced knowledge of purchasing principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English communication(read, write, and speak) interviews will be held in English
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks and the ability to prioritize a highly varied work level to maintain required productivity levels
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and qualities
  • General to advanced understanding of supplier management techniques
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information and ideas so others will understand
  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required. At the manager’s discretion, equivalent additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement
  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in supplier management required
  • General instruction on routine tasks, detailed instruction on new assignments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the vendor relationship, negotiations, and working as a business partner with the internal departments
  • Serves as the sole interface between the vendor, Rackspace's strategic sourcing team, and suppliers to ensure that sourcing needs are met
  • Optimizes internal customer relationships by building a solid rapport with everyone within the organization and manages global sourcing supplier relationships
  • Enhances the procurement and supply chain processes throughout all entities (domestic and international) by entering into global strategic sourcing partnerships
  • Identifies and takes advantage of strategic sourcing opportunities and manages difficult situations to ensure that the strategic sourcing team’s reputation for Fanatical Support is upheld
  • Maintains direct contact with internal customers throughout the entire supply chain with efforts to minimize cost, shorten delivery times, and maximize quality
  • Focus of work may be in the whole supply chain from acquisition to disposal
  • Leads, coordinates, and manages production, supply, and service agreements for the business
  • Develops and processes RFQs, RFP’s, PO requisitions, and partnership agreements
  • Manages a Supplier Performance Scorecard program with critical suppliers and maintains the company's Approved Supplier List
  • Establishes alliances with key production suppliers and performs supplier site visits and audits as required
  • Guides and assists team members on procurement best practices, e-procurement technology, and supplier relationship management practices
  • Interfaces with internal customers and integrates with procurement planning and budgeting processes
  • Develops and conducts market analysis and research that will help define commodity markets, analyze trends, competition, capacity, and purchasing buying power

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior knowledge of a technology-based service-oriented industry is preferred
  • Prior knowledge of Oracle is preferred but not required

Benefits

  • The role can be worked hybrid working at least two days a week at our office located in Miguel Hidalgo for candidates that live in Ciudad de Mexico or Estado de Mexico within 25 miles(40 KM) of the office
  • The role can be worked remotely in the states of  Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Aguascalientes, Queretaro, and Puebla
