Teacher Assistant, Student Advisor

Summary

Join CCRES as a Teacher Assistant (Student Advisor) and make a difference in the lives of students enrolled in the Philadelphia Virtual Academy (PVA). As the primary point of contact, you will communicate with students and parents, guiding them through the program and PVA system. You may also manage student caseloads, monitor progress, and provide academic support. This remote position offers a flexible schedule of 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM for 10 months (2025-2026 school year), with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour. The role supports 9th-12th grade students and requires a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Paid clearances and TB screening are provided.

Requirements

• Possess knowledge of web-based programs and apps
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Effectively communicate (orally and in writing)
• Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, meeting deadlines
• Adapt to organizational, system, and developmental changes with assistance from supervisor and/or colleagues
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
• Possess good organizational skills
• Exhibit strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Obtain necessary clearances (PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance, PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance, PA Department of Education FBI -- Use code 1KG6XN, TB Screening)
• Provide Education Documentation (diploma OR official transcripts from graduate program)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for students and parents enrolled in the Philadelphia Virtual Academy (PVA) program
• Communicate with students and parents to help them understand the program and navigate the PVA system
• Manage a student caseload (if applicable)
• Monitor student progress
• Provide 1:1 or small-group academic support to students as needed
• Complete assigned translation projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience as an instructional assistant or teacher (preferred)
• Have experience troubleshooting computer- and technology-related issues (preferred)
