Summary
Join Correlation One as a Teaching Assistant for the ASVAB Skills Accelerator and guide learners toward success in their U.S. Army career preparation. This part-time, remote role involves both live and self-paced interactions, supporting learners' confidence and excellence. The program runs for two weeks (January 27th-February 8th), requiring 10-15 hours per week. You will monitor communication channels, facilitate breakout rooms, grade submissions, and provide feedback for program improvement. The role requires experience in teaching or coaching, preferably virtually, and familiarity with standardized tests. Compensation is $42.50-$50/hr, depending on location and experience.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or coaching (preferably in a virtual environment)
- Experience serving as a standardized test-prep coach
- Strong organizational and communication skills to support diverse Learners
Responsibilities
- Attend and proactively engage in the mandatory Pre-Program TA Onboarding
- Monitor appropriate Slack channels (#c1-TA, #live-chat, #extra-help, and other relevant channels) for Learner questions and answer them promptly
- Check-in with Learners after each live session by asking how theyβre feeling about the content, if they have any questions, or if there is anything about which they need further clarity
- Attend live lectures and facilitate breakout rooms during lectures, when applicable
- Assist in keeping the live session progressing should the Lead Instructor experience technical difficulty or is otherwise unable to deliver the lecture
- Monitor appropriate Slack channels for Learner questions and answer them within 24 hours
- Foster discussion by posing questions of your own and sharing relevant links in the #resources channel or in other appropriate Slack channels
- Use the #c1-TA channel to share any important information during a lecture that needs the attention of Correlation One staff or fellow Expert Network staff
- Review content materials (including lab, projects, extended cases, etc..) for the next lecture to ensure you are prepared to answer Learner questions
- Hold Individual Office Hours via Zoom with Learners in the program so they can ask any additional questions or get support as necessary
- Grade Learner submissions of exercises and projects promptly
- Support continuous program improvement by providing thoughtful feedback to Correlation One team
- Attend all scheduled class sessions and meetings with your camera on, ensuring active engagement and professional presence
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASVAB, ACT/SAT or other standardized test content
- Familiarity and proficiency with key ASVAB subject areas, including foundational math, arithmetic, word knowledge and paragraph comprehension
