Requirements

  • 3-5 years in software development with a strong background in React, Ruby on Rails
  • 1-2 years in engineering leadership or mentorship roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire a team of developers through mentorship and technical coaching
  • Formal people management experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and decision-making
  • Ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic planning to ensure projects align with business objectives and technical standards

Responsibilities

  • Guiding and mentoring team members, providing coaching through 1:1s and running performance reviews to support ongoing professional development
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and other departments to ensure technical efforts are aligned with the broader business strategy and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Lead your pod’s processes, including standups, retros, estimation and grooming sessions to ensure effective collaboration and continuous improvement. Ensure the right priorities are being worked on by the team and stakeholder expectations around releases are being effectively managed
  • Driving the team to deliver high-quality features and products efficiently, balancing speed with the need for scalable and maintainable architecture
  • Actively jumping into the codebase when needed to help deliver features on time, demonstrating hands-on support and leadership
  • Planning and overseeing the development and implementation of technical projects, ensuring they align with our overall business goals
  • Facilitating team discussions and collaborating with Senior and Staff Engineers to design robust, scalable solutions, and contribute high-quality code. Being able to draw technical diagrams and drive documentation of technical decisions and strategy
