Summary

Join Foodsmart as our detail-oriented and experienced Technical Accounting Manager! You will oversee general accounting functions, prepare financial statements, ensure compliance with GAAP, and lead the audit process. This role requires a CPA license and 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. You will also manage accounting staff, support strategic financial planning, and work closely with senior management. Requirements

  • An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Active CPA license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree in addition would be preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including prior experience in audit
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent proficiency with ERP systems (i.e. NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, including writing technical accounting memos to ensure operational efficiency and compliance
  • Coordinate and support the external audit, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing performance feedback, professional development, and leadership
  • Work closely with senior management to analyze financial data and support business decision-making
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
  • Support tax preparation and filing in coordination with external tax advisors

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
