Summary

Join Skyward, a people-centered business with a civic tech mission, as a Technical Analyst. You will support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by developing and improving software applications, providing technical support, and working with various IT professionals. This role requires combining programming and analytical skills, proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, R, SQL, SAS, Stata), and experience with large datasets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, information systems, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with software applications
  • High proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages (Python, SAS, or R)
  • Experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets
  • Familiarity with secure data environments and experience working in government or healthcare IT environments
  • Comfort and expertise in troubleshooting a vast array of software-related issues
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by enabling researchers who are studying ways to improve the quality and reduce the cost of care provided to chronically ill Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries
  • Combine both programming and analytical skills to develop and improve software applications, systems, and documentation
  • Write, test, and maintain code in various programming languages (Python, R, SQL, SAS, Stata)
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for web-based analytical tools
  • Perform system and user acceptance testing on environments whenever needed
  • Work closely with other IT professionals, such as system architects, database administrators, business analysts, and quality assurance teams, to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Assist in training end-users on new applications and features, providing support during the transition to new systems
  • Produce content for and participate in customer-facing webinars as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have experience in Databricks, Stata, and AWS
  • You have experience supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
