Technical Architect III

Summary

Join our team as a Technical Architect-III and lead the development of new applications and services, modernizing existing infrastructure. You will provide technical guidance, implement best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders. This role requires extensive experience in architecting multi-layered web applications and managing all phases of the SDLC. You will work with little supervision, ensuring application security and collaborating with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Microsoft web applications, various programming languages, and system infrastructure architecture. This is a remote position located in Madison, WI, with a duration of up to 6+ months.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and experience with architecting multi-layered web applications
• Knowledge of methods used to install, configure, and maintain large complex web application infrastructure
• Knowledge of methods required to create detailed project/system plans
• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Web applications architecture
• Experience with software development tools such as Visual Basic, VB.Net, ASP.Net, Visual Studio, JAVA Script, NodeJS, Web Services, Stored Procedures, and HTML
• System infrastructure architecture and design practical experience (10 years)
• In-Depth Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle Deliverables for each Phase of Development (10 years)
• MS Visio (10 years)
• As-built system diagram experience, including protocols and infrastructure components (servers, firewalls, switches, etc.) (5 years)
• Technical Writing and Documentation experience (10 years)
• Ability to Evaluate and recommend programming languages, design tools, application frameworks, and applications (10 years)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (10 years)
• Project Management knowledge and practical experience in Agile methodologies (10 years)
• Knowledge of multiple programming languages .Net (MS), ASP.Net MVC, Java, etc. (10 years)
• Change Management experience (10 years)
• Microsoft SQL Services (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) (6 years)
• Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise architecture and practical working experience (4 years)
• RedHat OpenShift Containerization / Kubernetes experience (2 years)

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Architect to lead efforts in building new applications or services that modernize existing infrastructure
• Provide technical guidance and implement best practices
• Follow the agency’s defined policies and standards
• Partner with multiple stakeholders and development teams on technical infrastructure, application design, coding, and security for multiple applications, systems, and services
• Provide the most advanced level of technical expertise and leadership for the implementation of new solutions and the management of all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Consult and coordinate with internal and external business partners to build new infrastructure components for a complex multi-million-dollar program’s technical infrastructure
• Create and enforce application security
• Design and configure runtime containers
• Assist in CI/CD processing
• Advise on SQL Server configuration and design
• Advise on IIS configuration and design
• Create estimates for analysis, design, configuration, testing and implementation tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in securing applications through authorization and authentication using Okta
• Design and implementation experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes
• Practical knowledge of MS SQL SSRS, SSI, and SSAS services
