Summary
Join Results for Development (R4D) as a technical advisor to the Linked Immunisation Action Network. This consultancy supports the planning and facilitation of a workshop focused on preventing backsliding in vaccine coverage in middle-income countries. The role involves collaborating with the Network Facilitation Team, Gavi, country stakeholders, and regional partners like WHO and UNICEF. Responsibilities include participating in virtual discussions, developing a learning agenda, identifying focus areas for learning engagements, reviewing concept notes, identifying speakers, advising on immunisation trends, curating country experiences, facilitating a learning exchange, and reviewing resources. The contract runs from February 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with a possible extension, and involves up to 15 working days. Ideal candidates possess extensive experience in immunization program strengthening, collaborative learning, and event facilitation.
Requirements
- Excellent English skills (written and verbal fluency)
- 15+ years of experience working in immunisation programme strengthening, specifically in supporting sustainable and equitable vaccine coverage
- Significant experience in collaborative or peer-to-peer learning, or event facilitation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well individually and in a team, including working with teams based remotely across time zones
- Experience being a mentor and coaching/accompaniment experience
- Leadership and management skills
- Analytical thinking skills
- Problem solving skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
Responsibilities
- Participate in virtual discussions with the Linked Network Facilitation Team and Gavi to discuss critical barriers and priority challenges to sustainable and equitable vaccine coverage
- Participate in virtual discussions with priority country stakeholders to discuss critical barriers and priority challenges to sustainable and equitable vaccine coverage
- Support the development of a learning agenda for the backsliding objective
- Identify focus areas for learning engagements that address critical barriers and priority challenges related to sustainable and equitable vaccine coverage
- Review concept notes for learning engagements and support the development of technical content, such as technical guidance/standards, case studies for presentation, templates for country presentations and posters, guidance for facilitators, etc
- Identify and coordinate with potential speakers or thought partners that could contribute to the network
- Advise the Network Facilitation Team on relevant global and country immunisation programme trends, sharing relevant research, best practices, or other materials or tools
- Curate country experiences and technical expertise to share practical βhow-toβ implementation knowledge on promising approaches to address critical barriers and priority challenges
- Facilitate one in-person learning exchange alongside the Network Facilitation Team; drawing on country experiences and expertise to guide discussions and draw out learnings
- Serve as the βgo-toβ technical expert for the Network Facilitation Team as they support countries to implement action plans which facilitate the translation of network learnings to action within countries
- Review resources which synthesize learnings from Linked engagements
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to travel to 1-2 in-person engagements of 2-4 days each (location TBD)
