Technical Director

Summary

Seedworld is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead the development of their gaming platform using Unreal Engine 5 with a focus on Web 3 integration. The role requires extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5, AAA game development, C++, Blueprints, and other related technologies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in game development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5 is essential
• Proficiency in C++, Blueprints, and Unreal Engine development
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (e.g., RESTful APIs, database design, server-side programming)
• Solid experience in multiple aspects of game technology development
• Strong understanding of software development processes with respect to networked applications, blockchain and integration of the two
• Mastery of common software development tools like bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) & version management systems (e.g. Perforce)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership and direction for the development of the gaming platform
• Develop and maintain a technical roadmap that outlines the steps needed to achieve short-term and long-term project goals
• Foster collaboration between the engineering team and other departments such as art, design, and business
• Identify potential technical risks and create mitigation strategies to address them
• Encourage and lead the exploration of new technologies and methodologies
• Work closely with the QA team to ensure that technical solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability
• Provide mentorship to senior engineers
• Oversee the technical budget
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
