Summary
Join Vercel as a Technical Engagement Manager and drive customer success by providing technical leadership in pre-sales and post-sales engagements. You will collaborate with the account team, scope solutions, estimate professional services programs, and ensure delivery aligns with customer goals. This role contributes to the growth of Vercel's Professional Services, developing new offerings and enhancing delivery capabilities. The position is fully remote, reporting to the Global Head of Professional Services, with occasional travel. You will lead technical delivery, manage cross-functional teams, and serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers. This role also involves pre-sales technical leadership, developing proposals, and presenting solutions to customers.
Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience in consulting, technical delivery, or customer-facing roles, with a focus on platform migrations, composable commerce implementations, or similar complex technical projects
- Possess a deep understanding of modern web architectures, including headless CMS, composable commerce, and frontend frameworks
- Have a proven track record of leading both pre-sales technical pursuits and post-sales delivery engagements, ensuring customer success and satisfaction
- Excel at managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders, balancing competing priorities to deliver results
- Be a strong communicator, capable of translating technical concepts into business value for customers and internal teams
- Have experience working with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical delivery leader for Professional Services engagements, ensuring customer outcomes are achieved within scope, schedule, budget, and resource constraints
- Work backwards from customer business and technical outcomes to define success criteria and delivery plans
- Manage cross-functional delivery teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution
- Monitor project health, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction
- Partner with the account team to lead technical pursuits, including scoping, solutioning, and estimating effort for migration programs
- Develop tailored proposals and statements of work (SOWs) that align with customer needs and Vercel’s capabilities
- Present technical solutions to customers, addressing their business and technical challenges
- Collaborate with sales and solutions engineering teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements and proposed solutions
- Contribute to the development of new migration offerings and service offerings, leveraging customer insights and industry trends
- Help mature Vercel’s Professional Services delivery capabilities by defining best practices, templates, and frameworks
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance their technical and delivery expertise
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine processes and tools for improved efficiency and scalability
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience with Vercel’s platform or similar edge computing and frontend cloud platforms
- Have knowledge of e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Have familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Asana
- Have a background in software development or engineering, enabling you to deeply understand technical challenges and solutions
- Have experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS or technology company
