Summary
Join Pipe17 as a Technical Writer and contribute to creating and maintaining high-quality documentation for our ecommerce platform. You will develop documentation for various user journeys, including configuration, operational oversight, and API integration. Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to ensure clear and concise content. This role requires 2-3+ years of experience in technical writing and strong communication skills. Requirements
- 2-3+ years of experience in technical writing (Semi-Senior/Senior)
- Content Structuring & Organization: Ability to categorize, index, and maintain documentation efficiently
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Engages with engineering, product, success, and sales teams to gather accurate information
- Clear & Concise Writing: Ability to make complex technical concepts accessible
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and a results-driven mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable content
- Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and support teams to create user-focused documentation
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain documentation for three core user journeys: Day 0: Configuration & setup (for technical but non-developer users)
- Day 1: Operational oversight (debugging, use cases, exception handling for non-technical users)
- Developers: API documentation, SDK guidance, and building new integrations
- Externalize our SDK framework to make it accessible for outside developers
- Establish a prescriptive, structured approach to cataloging and prioritizing fragmented knowledge
- Ensure documentation is user-friendly, actionable, and regularly updated based on product changes and feedback
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and support teams to gather technical details and translate them into clear, accessible content
- Work with design tools like Figma, Markdown, and HTML as needed to enhance documentation clarity and accessibility
- Research and analyze industry trends, competitor documentation, and customer feedback to continuously improve content
Preferred Qualifications
- E-commerce knowledge (desirable): Understanding of order flows, integrations, and platforms like NetSuite, Shopify, 3PLs, etc
- Ecommerce background is a strong plus—familiarity with logistics, integrations, and commerce operations
- Ability to work resourcefully, without defaulting to buying tools as the first solution
