Telehealth Nurse

Summary

The Registered Nurse Telehealth provides remote patient care support to seafarers, monitors telehealth operations, implements clinical and technical aspects of care, reviews patient data, documents nursing encounters, and communicates with staff. A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing is required, along with at least 2 years' acute clinical nursing work experience and current licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• A minimum of 2 years' acute clinical nursing work experience required
• Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Remotely assist in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provides telehealth support and guidance to seafarers in the assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized treatment programs
• Monitors and manages telehealth operations, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Implements clinical and technical aspects of care, intervenes with safety techniques and procedures, and supports the implementation of medical plans and diagnostic testing
• Reviews and analyzes patient data, health outcomes, and service utilization data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and guide decision-making
• Documents nursing encounters using charting in the telehealth platform and attends mandatory staff meetings and training
• Communicates information to nursing staff, physicians, and other staff members as necessary
