Temporary Sales Associate

Summary

The job is for a Retail Sales Associate at the Whitney Museum Shop from August 26th, 2024 to February 19th, 2025. Requirements

• High School Diploma, College Degree preferred
• Retail and/or sales experience, previous POS and inventory experience
• Hospitality or service experience
• Strong public-facing customer service skills
• Accurate cash-handling skills
• Computer literacy
• Interest in arts & culture
• Ability to deal with large crowds
• Flexibility in schedule and work time
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights of merchandise

Responsibilities

• Providing impeccable customer service by engaging, understanding, and fulfilling the needs of customers
• Efficiently and accurately process sales transactions across multiple sales channels and technology platforms
• Selling and providing hospitality service
• Responsibly handle cash and credit card transactions
• Open and close cash drawers
• Actively maintain high standards of merchandise presentation; visually and verbally
• Coordinating the breakdown of the retail shop for events; performing inventory counts as scheduled; and other related duties as assigned
• Restocking of supplies and products; inventory maintenance
• Assist in receiving and packaging
• Mail order processing (online and in-store)
