Summary

Join Pepperstone's Trading Operations team and play a vital role in maintaining the uptime and reliability of our client trading platforms and internal trading infrastructure. You will monitor, configure, and maintain order management systems, aggregation, and liquidity management systems. This position requires practical knowledge of various trading systems and a strong understanding of Pepperstone's business model. Responsibilities include managing client trading platforms (MT4, MT5, cTrader), internal dealing infrastructure, performing system health checks, conducting audits, addressing operational tickets, managing corporate actions, investigating trade issues, monitoring pricing, managing escalations, and supporting regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least two years of experience in a similar role within the online trading industry. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Maths, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in the field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the online trading industry, with a strong familiarity with aggregation and liquidity management technology
  • Ability to investigate issues using logs and craft simple database queries (SQL)
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, with a strong inclination toward self-learning
  • Strong analytical skills, effective time management and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is required
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, tackle weekend tasks, and adjust to varying shifts

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer our client trading platforms, including MT4, MT5, cTrader and the in-house Pepperstone trading platform
  • Manage the company's internal dealing infrastructure, including execution, pricing and hedging engines, liquidity aggregators and proprietary trading infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient trading operations
  • Vigilantly monitor all dealing-critical systems, which encompass Trading Systems, Proxy servers, Windows servers, Aggregators, Pricing Engine and Third-party plugins to proactively detect and address issues to maintain system stability
  • Perform periodic health and performance checks on all trading platforms and systems to maintain optimal efficiency and reliability
  • Regularly conduct audits of trading platform systems and software to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities or discrepancies
  • Address Operations tickets and requests promptly, considering the business sensitivity and urgency of each request
  • Manage the process of corporate actions, swaps, as well as other daily operational tasks as required by the business, contributing to the smooth functioning of trading operations
  • Conduct end-to-end investigations for trade-related issues, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or problems
  • Monitor pricing and resolve pricing issues effectively to prevent disruptions in client trading activities
  • Manage escalations and maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders, external vendors and service providers
  • Support regulatory reporting initiatives such as transaction reporting, best execution and market abuse surveillance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience managing oneZero Hub, or other leading liquidity aggregation and execution engines is a strong advantage
  • Previous experience in a trading operations or dealing role, especially in relation to MetaTrader 4/5. Familiarity with cTrader and Devexperts is advantageous
  • Experience in Database Administration or SQL-based reporting is a plus
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol is a plus
