Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
- 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Experience with Synchro 10 and traffic signal operations/phasing
- Experience with innovative intersection and interchange configurations
- Experience with the predictive methods of the Highway Safety Manual
- Experience with traffic forecasting methods
Responsibilities
- Serving as a project engineer and/or project manager in the planning and execution of traffic engineering projects
- Assisting in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules
- Conducting traffic engineering analysis and design
- Preparing and reviewing project documentation, reports, and specifications
- Applying engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- May assign work to junior engineers or other staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterโs degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field
- Registered as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
- 10+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience
- Experience in traffic signal and pavement marking design
- Experience preparing simple to complex traffic studies
- Experience with traffic simulation modeling software packages such as PTVโs VISSIM
- Experience with travel demand modeling software packages such as Caliperโs TransCAD
- Experience with urban, multimodal transportation planning and traffic calming
- Experience leading teams in a project client environment
