Trainee Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Trainee Accountant at SPT Labtech's head office. The role involves supporting the UK trading company month end close, performing regular spend reviews, managing the UK Fixed Asset register, and completing various reporting tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the global finance team and other departments.

Requirements

A degree in accounting or business, or studying AAT, ACCA or CIMA with experience of working in a finance team previously would be desirable

Responsibilities

• Helping to drive continuous improvements, both within the function, and across the wider business as a key member of the core finance team
• Performing regular spend reviews and variance analysis to support our monthly reporting, working closely with departmental heads
• Managing the UK Fixed Asset register and associated processes for the company
• Completion of monthly reporting and balance sheet reconciliations, including Prepayments, Accruals and Fixed Assets
• Preparation and submission of UK VAT returns, across multiple jurisdictions
• Completion of the UK company’s Bank Reconciliations
• Providing ad hoc support to the wider Finance Team (e.g. Tax & Treasury, Accounts Payable) as required
