Transportation Design Engineer

Summary

Join Fehr & Peers as a Transportation Design Engineer to solve complex transportation challenges and develop engineering plans for various projects. Gain experience with software such as AutoCAD and Microstation, Synchro/SimTraffic, Bluebeam, AGi32, and ProjectWise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation, civil engineering, or a related field
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months
• Work experience and/or completion of significant project coursework in traffic engineering design or related transportation design experience
• Exceptional technical writing and public speaking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide support for planning and feasibility activities by developing concept designs and planning level cost estimates
• Develop and analyze design alternatives for traffic engineering projects
• Conduct field visits to review existing conditions and design constraints
• Prepare design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates
• Provide design support during construction (requests for information, contractor submittals, etc.)
• Effectively communicate engineering concepts in memos, reports, and project meetings
• Collaborate with a diverse set of professionals including planners, engineers, technicians, analysists, and data scientists

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience and/or coursework with software such as AutoCAD and/or Microstation (highly desirable)
