Join Whatnot, the largest livestream shopping platform, as a UI Designer on our Growth Marketing team! The ideal candidate has 5+ years of UI design experience, fluency in English and Mandarin, and proficiency in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UI design, with a strong portfolio
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, with excellent communication skills and experience working with teams across different regions, especially the United States
  • Comfortable working across time zones and managing asynchronous workflows effectively
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma & Adobe Creative Suite) and experience working with prototyping and design systems

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product and Eng teams to understand project goals and design requirements, delivering innovative UI solutions that align with our brand and marketing objectives
  • Lead the UI design for growth initiatives, focusing on user acquisition, engagement, and retention, and ensuring consistency in visuals across all channels
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in China and the United States to gather feedback, iterate on designs, and implement solutions that meet both regional and global standards
  • Manage workflows effectively across time zones, maintaining clear communication and a proactive approach to managing feedback loops and design iterations
  • Serve as a cultural bridge, ensuring that design elements and visuals are appropriate for diverse audiences and aligned with brand identity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Visual Design: Defining and evolving visual design standards for large projects or multiple product lines. Focusing on scalability, accessibility, and adaptability of designs across platforms (e.g., mobile, web)
  • Prototyping: Advanced proficiency in creating interactive, complex prototypes that allow stakeholders to experience near-final designs
  • Interaction Design: Designing seamless, end-to-end user experiences considering various user flows, edge cases, and multiple touchpoints
  • Animation: Designing meaningful and delightful animations that reinforce brand identity and enhance usability
